How Ironic

The irony of it all!  I used SU!'s Fast & Fabulous hostess set (Released as of July 1st) to make this card along with SU!'s Whimsical Words stamp set.  This card came together very, very, slowly.  My fingers kept dropping 'inked' stamps on where I was going to stamp forcing me to start over and over and over.  There are times where you just have to laugh at yourself!

Today's color scheme is:  Night of Navy (card base), White, Real Red, and Kraft.  This color theme was inspired by Curtain Call Act 36's color challenge

The Fast & Fabulous hostess stamp is a two-step stamping set.  The flower stem stamp was stamped with Always Artichoke ink and the flower petals with Night of Navy ink.  The sentiment from Whimsical Words was stamped with black ink on to Kraft paper.

The border was created by applying a Spellbinder Die to Whisper White card stock.  Real Red ink was used for embossing purposes.

The card's inside also has a Night of Navy DSP scalloped border with a Whisper White paper center.

Oh my, I am still laughing at how long it took me to make today's card due to my clumsiness!

Strip of Flowers

I thought it would be fun to use my Sizzlits Decorative Strips Flowers die (113454 – $19.95) in making a card.  What a quick and easy way to create a string of flowers for a card!  Or for that matter—to decorate a scrapbook page.

Today's card (Bermuda Bay card base) gave my Big Shot a nice workout.  First, I embossed the card's front using Backgrounds I texturz plate.  Next  through my Big Shot was the "Lots of Tags" sizzlit with a leftover scrap of Dusty Durango paper. Another strip of Dusty Durango paper was used to create a strip of decorative flowers.

A strip of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP was added to the bottom of the card and then the Dusty Durango flower strip was layered on top.  I added some rhinestones for flower centers just because I felt in a blingy mood.  A sentiment from Whimsical Words (Sale-A-Bration) was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink on a scrap piece of white paper and punched out with the large oval scallop punch.  Did I ever tell you how glad I am that I finally purchased this punch???  The oval punch out was adhered to the Dusty Durango tag and then attached to the card front.

If I was to do the card over I would use a smaller strip of DSP.  Then again…  Do enjoy today's quick-n-easy card!

Probably the Last

This will probably be my last card with a heart shape for  awhile.  Valentine's Day is almost here and feels like a good time to move on to other themes and theme-related shapes. ;)

How many people like going to the dentist?  I do if it is about getting my teeth cleaned.  Strange, huh?  My teeth were cleaned yesterday and it just felt so good to sit back and let it all happen.

A quick and easy card today.  Again, I am using SU!'s Sending Love Specialty DSP on a Very Vanilla card base.  The sentiment is stamped with Real Red ink and comes from the Whimsical Words stamp set.  A strip of Chocolate Chip satin ribbon was added as an accent.  The larger Real Red heart was created using the magnetic heart shape die with my Sizzix Movers and Shapers BigZ die.  The slightly smaller heart was punched from the Sending Love Specialty DSP using SU!'s large heart punch.   A Chocolate Chip 1/4" Sending Love epoxy brad (117272 – $3.25) was added to give the matted hearts a little more oompf.

The first card I made with a similar layout just did not thrill me.  I will share it with you in hopes you can let me know what you would do to make it a really great looking card.
