Whale Story

This album contains 2 items.

Yesterday I thought my heart stopped beating for a brief spell.  Here is the reason why…  Since it was a beautiful day on the Big Island we decided to kayak in hopes of maybe catching a fish and to enjoy spotting humpback whales that winter here in Hawaii.   There we were just drifting about [...]

Life is Good

Oh dear—what was I thinking for taking two challenges on at the same time?  First, the color throw down challenge of Dusty Durango, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip.  Now there is a color combo challenge for you!  Next, the Just Us Girls (JUGS) sketch challenge 14 (JUGS14).   OK, I did take artistic license to add Old [...]

Sweet Little Sentiment

This album contains 1 items.

This time around I made a welcome baby girl card using SU!’s Nursery Necessities and Sweet Little Sentiments (R) stamp sets.
I am not a huge fan of pink though I do like Pretty in Pink which was used for the card base and matting.  Barely Banana paper was used as a complimentary color.  While rooting [...]

The end

This album contains 2 items.

We are at the end of 2009 and on the verge of a new decade.  Oh my and WOW.  Alice, my assistant, provided one interpretation of ‘the end’.   As my neighbors says…"Alice is just a full figure gal."
Here is my card to share with you all.  The finished card is not even close to what [...]

Holiday cold

Oh dear—somehow I have come down with a cold in the nose.  Bless the person who invented kleenexes though.

Yesterday I played around making some special request cards using a pineapple stamp as the center theme.  The pineapple stamp is by PaperTreyInk as well as the paper used on this card.  The pineapple stem was stamped using SU!’s Old Olive ink.  The pineapple base was stamped using More Mustard and Really Rust (on the stamp edges) ink.  Spellbinder dies were used to create the oval shapes.

Here are a couple more cards I made with the pineapple stamp.  The card on the left has SU!’s More Mustard for a card base with Old Olive paper used for paper mats.  Again, Spellbinder dies were used to help create a focal point on the cards.  The card on the left has more ’sponging’ (using More Mustard ink) than the card on the right.

Now I need to figure out some Welcome Baby cards.  That’s definitely not my strong suit!

Stamp on and with Aloha!  Aloha Jan
