Yesterday I discovered a new web site called Soul Scrappers (http://soul-scrappers.ning.com/). If you have a few moments do check it out. For me, I decided to give the scrapbook challenge SC3 a whirl. Soul Scrappers provides the layout and the rest is up to you! Now I like that!
Here is the challenge scrapbook page I made with SU!'s My Digital Studio (MDS). Idid take a little bit of 'creative license' with the sketch.
The colors used on the scrapbook page were: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, and So Saffron.
I kept the page pretty simple—with digital software you can add bling and zing until your fingers grow weary. For now—I am going to let the page set a day or so and see what enhancements or changes I want to make if any. That's what so cool about digital software—it is so easy to keep trying different things without any waste of precious stamping and scrapbooking supplies.
This scrapbook page is the first of many for my 'work in progress' 8×8 scrapbook. My game plan is to add page(s) when I find a great layout (or think of one on my own) that seem perfect to capture a memory. Stay tuned for future episodes of my scrapbook over time!

This card's color scheme: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Kraft, and Real Red.
Verve stamps had for a brief spell a Valentine digital download for free. I downloaded the images and decided to have some fun with them by making a card using My Digital Studio. This is the first time I had tried using a digital image other than what I had purchased from Stampin' Up!.
So behold, the Valentine card I made using My Digital Studio (SU!) and two of the Verve digital stamps. The card base is Chocolate Chip and matted with Pretty in Pink scallops and Kraft colors. The sentiment is in Chocolate Chip with the heart itself being Real Red. I added one gold brad and needed to call it quits to take care of a household situation. Anyway, I had a blast playing around with my digital card!

Today I am sharing some snippets from a calendar I made using My Digital Studio. The 2010 calendar was a Christmas gift to my brother and his wife. The calendar is a compilation of family photos taken over the last few years. I bugged my brother’s kids to send me photos and I also included some photos from my last trip home. This calendar is a gift that will be treasured for years to come because it’s a treasure trove of happy family times.
It was such a blast sifting through the photos and selecting (and de-selecting) what to include on each calendar page. Then there was the added kicks in selecting stamps, punches, embellishments, and background paper. Now I want to move on to making a scrapbook!
The page above shows my great nephew (Ethan) celebrating his first, second, and third birthdays. My favorite picture is in the lower right-hand corner. Ethan just was not a happy camper on his second birthday!
Now on to another calendar page primarily photos of my nephew and his wife visiting his sister who lives in Japan. My favorite photo is in the upper left-hand corner. It’s my nephew acting silly with Ethan.

On several calendar pages I added a photo and applied the opacity widget to soften the photo colors. I like the look and its another way for me to sneak in more photos in the project.

One last calendar example:
This page I kept simple—just photos and text.
Hope I have inspired you to purchase My Digital Studio!
Stamp on and with Aloha! Aloha Jan
If things had worked out we would be in the air headed for home on the Big Island from the San Francisco airport. That’s not the case. Heavy sigh. Our plane had a "mechanical" problem and after sitting for an hour on the plane we were told the mechanical problem could not be resolved. Now we are patiently waiting at SFO airport with the other Kona, Hawaii bound passengers waiting for another plane to wing us away.
Our time in California visiting relatives was a blast. We had beautiful weather every day and time went by way too fast. Our time was mostly spent in Carlsbad, California which has been the "official" meeting spot for my husband’s siblings for many, many years. Carlsbad is such a delightful and eclectic seaside town! One of my favorite things to do is walk along the beach and watch the surfers in action.
Now for some good news!
My Digital Studio Certification

In October I viewed all SU!’s MDS training webinars and took the required quizzes to receive My Digital Studio certification from SU!. What does this mean for you? It means I have the knowledge, experience, and training to help you maximize your MDS purchase to the utmost! If you have a question or need guidance—I am there for you!
My first project with MDS was to design our 2009 Christmas cards and have them professionally printed. It was so simple and easy from design to uploading my finished card project electronically to the professional printers. I was also pleasantly amazed at how FAST the printers shipped my beautiful Christmas cards to me. Remember, in Hawaii you expect everything to take FOREVER to get to you. Just think how fast you’ll get your project back from the printers if you live on the Mainland!!!
My next project is a Calendar for my brother and his wife as a very special Christmas gift. Also, I am going to do a calendar for us with lots of fun pictures. After that—a scrapbook album! MDS makes these projects so simple, fun, and easy to do.

Another quick post since my flight departure to San Diego is close at hand. Yep, another MDS card for you! This card features Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and Summer Home DSP card stock. The stamps are from the For All You Do stamp set. Can you see the white stitching on the card?
I am having a blast playing with my MDS!! It sure helps make the time go faster when you are dealing with airline travel. I’d say MDS has therapeutic qualities besides being able to create scrapbooks, cards, calendars, and other multi-media projects!
