Did you know that the pineapple represents hospitality? Not me!
How do you like my embossed pineapple? It’s real easy to do dry embossing when you use your Big Shot. What I did was cut my vanilla paper to the same size as my stencil. I followed the platform instructions on how to emboss using a brass stencil. Oh so easy!
The pineapple was colored in using Old Olive, More Mustard, Really Rust, and Close to Cocoa. You will laugh at this—I used my fingers to sponge in the colors. I would agree using sponge daubers is a better way to go. I just need to practice more to where the colors do not bleed underneath the stencil.
The card base is Old Olive and the card mat is DSP retired a long long time ago. The embossed pineapple image was matted on More Mustard and Close to Cocoa paper.
What I encouraging you to do is pull out your brass stencils and have fun dry embossing via your Big Shot! You’ll have fun and will create some beautiful cards and/or scrapbook pages!

Just a quick post today. There have been different things going on in my life which has kept me from posting. One activity is creating a 2010 calendar for my brother and his wife using SU!’s My Digital Studio (118108 – $79.95). What a blast! I lose track of time while working on my project. I just get so engrossed in creating each month’s page layout using pictures their grown children sent me. It has also been a giggle flagging special days with stamps, embellishments, and punches.
Today’s card features SU!’s Rose Red card stock with Taken with Teal used for matting. The DSP is Bali Breeze (retired) which I pulled from my stash and layered on Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal paper. SU!’s scalloped punch was used to create the scalloped border on the Taken with Teal paper. Spellbinder dies were used to create the scalloped circle from Taken with Teal Paper and the flower from Pumpkin pie paper and rose red. The flower was sponged using Rose Red ink. Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon was used to complete the card.
I do hope your holiday activities are full of fun and not too overwhelming for you!

Happy Thanksgiving day to all! We will be celebrating the day at our neighbors who live just across the street. My contributions for the Thanksgiving Day meal are almost completed. I am just wondering to myself if it was a good idea to volunteer to make homemade rolls. They could turn out to be small door stoppers…
I do know there is much to be thankful and grateful for in my life. One thing I try to do each night before falling to sleep is to thank God for all the blessings that came my way that day. Some times I find myself smiling in the dark as I recall a particular blessing.
Today’s card is my take on Stamp TVs sketch challenge STVSC39. I thought the Verve stamp sentiment was perfect for this particular sketch. The sketch gave me the excuse to use my SU! Kiwi Kiss corduroy buttons. OK—I have been hoarding them. Remember, SU! has a great promotion going on right now and you can purchase a cool bundle of corduroy buttons of various colors.
I dipped in to my stash and pulled out retired SU! In-Colors Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, and retired In-Color DSP to make this card. My SU! Sizzlit die, Birds & Blooms, was used to cut out two flowers using Chocolate Chip scrap paper pieces.

May you find Happiness along the Way and Happy Thanksgiving!!

I arrived back on the Big Island late morning yesterday. I still feel a little bit disoriented with the time change (3 hours) and from the long return flight. What is so unbelievably amazing is my flights to-and-fro were all on time. My luggage did not get lost and came off the conveyor belt (both times!) in short order. How lucky can a woman get?
It is going to take me a bit to get back in the stamping groove again. So please hang in there with me while I figure out how to stamp again!
Today’s cards feature a Penny Black cat stamp that I purchased in Oregon. I love the kitty’s pudgy, cuddly, and ‘oh so happy’ look. The cards base are SU!’s Night of Navy card stock. It felt oh so relaxing coloring in the stamped image using SU!’s markers (I pulled the color off with a blender pen). Both stamped with an image white card panels are framed with Old Olive and Night of Navy card stock. I also sponged Bliss Blue (retired) around the stamped image to create clouds.
The left hand side card has a Pumpkin Pie card panel that was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used SU!’s scalloped punch on white card stock to create a white accent strip against SU!’s Old Olive card stock panel. The ribbon is Pumpkin Pie with white stripes.
The right hand side card is a simpler version of the first card. This time I just cut out a white card panel (5 1/4 x 4") and layered retired SU! paper (2003!!!) cut at 5 x 3 3/4" on top. I used a wide strip of Old Olive ribbon to tie the bow. The cat’s meow!
Both cards have the same inside sentiment "Have a Purrfect day!" and that is what I wish for you.

Last night I read "Stamping with Denise" (click on "Stamping with Denise") post about 13 year-old Paige who was in a serious boating accident a few weeks ago and had part of her left arm amputated. Denise’s post will take you to Erin’s blog (Scrap, Stamp, and be Merry). Erin is actually the one [...]
