Playing Around

Today's color scheme is Color Throw Down Challenge #78 colors:  Soft Sky (retired), Kraft, and Pink Pirouette (retired).  I have scraps of Soft Sky  DSP left so that made the challenge even more challenging for me.  Any excuse though to use up all that beautiful SU! DSP!

The card base is Kraft paper and card front measures 6" x 3 1/4"  (i.e. cut paper to 6" x 6 1/2" and fold in half).   Stamp set:  Of the Earth (Hostess stamp set); Punch set:  Scallop Trim Border; Ribbon:  Soft Sky white stitched ribbon (retired).

The Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim Border was applied to each edge of the retired SU! Soft Sky DSP.  The butterfly and flower stamp was stamped with Pink Pirouette on Whisper White paper and sentiment was stamped on top with Chocolate Chip ink.  The stamped panel was matted on Pink Pirouette paper and then to Kraft paper.  I did use dimensionals on the back of the Pink Pirouette paper so I could run the ribbon underneath this panel.  Just thought the card looked more fun with the panel raised.  If you are wondering why I did not use my Pink Pirouette ribbon….OK, I could not find it.  Did I mention that organizing my ribbon drawers would be a good thing??!!

A simple card where the recipient's eye is drawn horizontally left to right across the card front.

Here's the first card I made while playing around with the CTD #78 challenge.  I used the Kind & Caring Thoughts Hostess stamp set and stamped the large (what is that plant anyway???) with Ruby Red ink.  As I said…I was playing around…   After looking at the finished card I decided to take another run at making a different card to share with you.
