OK—here’s the scoop.  I have been caught up in volunteer work and a Craft Fair.  Hence, no posts the last few days.   Guess what!  I made some sales at the Craft Fair and received some card making requests.  Cool!

This birthday card was made to fulfill one of the requests.  It’s a tri-fold card made from 5 1/2 x 11" Pumpkin Pie card stock.  I was inspired by a YouTube video made by DawnsStampingThoughts (url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHsq8Jbl-68 or just look below).   Dawn used 4 1/4 x 11" dimension to make her card whereas I chose to make a larger card.  The score lines remain the same—scoring at 4" and 7 5/8".

The SU! Bali Breeze DSP (retired) was just perfect for the color scheme chosen by the requester (No Christmas colors!). 

Using my Pumpkin Pie marker I inked the flower stamp (omitting the sentiment) from SU!’s Oval All set.   The inked stamp was stamped on Whisper White paper and punched out using SU!’s Scallop Oval punch.  I used SU!’s Occasions Collection (Retired) stamps to stamp "Happy Birthday" using Tempting Turquoise ink.  The stamped sentiment was matted to a larger oval scallop (Tempting Turquoise paper) made using my Sizzix Movers and Shapers.  My hope is SU! will come out with more oval stamps sets.  

What turned out well was adding a 1" x 11" strip of Bali Breeze DSP to the inside of the card.  I used it as a marquee to draw the person’s eye to the happy birthday sentiment (On Your Birthday – 111664) in the card’s center.  The birthday sentiment was stamped using Tempting Turquoise ink on to a rectangle shape piece of white paper  and then matted to a slightly larger rectangle shape piece of Tempting Turquoise paper.   The large arrows were punched from Tempting Turquoise paper and added to help guide the receiver to the stamped sentiment.
