Touch of Nature

Touch of Nature

An acquaintance of mine recently had a double mastectomy.  This is the card I made she’ll receive from me to let her know she’s in my thoughts and prayers.  A good friend of hers says she is doing well and is in good spirits.

SU!’s Orchid Opulence is the card’s base and Apricot Appeal DSP (from an old SU! 6×6 package) and Handsome Hunter card stock was used in creating this card.  The stamped flower is from SU!’s Touch of Nature (retired—sigh) stamp set .  The flower image was stamped on white card stock using black ink.  The stamped flower outline was colored in using Copic Markers.  The sentiment, "Thinking of You", is a Verve stamp stamped using black ink.

I used Spellbinder dies to cut out the smooth and scalloped edge ovals.  A Cuttlebug die created the butterfly and it was embossed using a corresponding Cuttlebug butterfly embossing folder.  Itsy-Bitsy small pearls (my fingers are too fat for applying these cute pearls!) were added to the butterfly’s center.

StampTV’s sketch challenge STVSC33 provided me my card’s layout.  I like the sketch—you can create lots of  fun and good looking cards based on this sketch.  To me it is a sketch that has staying power.
