Music of Life

DSCN1538 Last night I was stamping away when the electricity went out.  RUH-ROH. There I sat in total blackness.  I gingerly got up and looked out the window to verify everyone else was in the dark too.  Yep—the whole neighborhood was in this together.  Why does one feel better knowing were all in the same mess?  The good news is my husband, flashlight in hand, led me back to our family room.   I was going to light some candles and could not find a match.  What’s the good of having candles if you don’t have a match?!  Aaargh. The power came back on after about 15 minutes and life went back to normal.  Yes, I’m buying matches the next time I’m in town!

Here’s the card I made where I tried to follow Verve Stamp’s August 2009 Anni-VERVE-sary AVS203 sketch challenge.  Over the next few days you’ll see some other Verve sketch challenge cards.  There’s one card that I may not post.  Why? One of the card layers is  a little bit…well…not straight.  It’s bugging the heck out of me each time I look at the card.  It’s like a painting hanging askew on the wall.  Annoying!  Maybe I will post the card so y’all can have a good example of what annoying looks like. :-)

This card does meet the criteria for the Diva Coffee Break Design color challenge #140.  I used SU! colors of Garden Green (card base), Regal Rose, Orchid Opulence, and So Saffron per the color challenge criteria.  The butterfly is a Spellbinder Die and the lace border was created by using a Martha Stewart punch.  I used  Verve stamp sets (flower, sentiment), white dew drops for accents, a 3/4" circle punch (flower’s regal rose center) and Cuttlebug’s swiss dot embossing folder on this card.  Oh, and I did some paper piercing on the white card layer.  Ta Da—I had a completed card!

Stamp on and with Aloha!

Aloha Jan
