Whoa—what happened to the weekend?! Today’s card is about punches with a minimal emphasis on stamping.
SU!’s Sahara Sand is the card’s base color with the accent colors being Kiwi Kiss (retired—sob!) and Basic Gray. I used my retired Urban Oasis DSP for the card’s focal point. OK, I was feeling lazy! The Modern label punch was [...]

I had a blast using Verve’s Ornamental Christmas stamp set in creating today’s 5×5-inch square card. The stamp set has so many options for dressing up (or not) your stamped ornament. The set also includes a great set of holiday sentiments to use on your crafting project.
Another dip in the stash day for me. I used retired SU! Christmas paper that color coordinates with Certainly Celery, Artichoke, and Soft Sky (retired). The ornament outline and sentiment were stamped with Always Artichoke ink and the ornament decor with Soft Sky ink (retired).
My Christmas card was created based on Verve’s Mojo Monday 101 sketch challenge.

I have some yard work that’s calling out to me except my body says a nap is more important. What do you bet that the nap happens before the yard work?!

Wow! I have over 15,000 hits and 30 readers!!!
That is so unbelievable fantastic (and touching!) to me so let us celebrate with my very first blog candy: Spellbinders Nestabilities – Label Two. Yum!!!
How do you win the blog candy? OK—fairly simple.
1. Leave a comment on my blog with a link (or somehow point me in the right direction) to a favorite card sample or 3D project of yours.
2. You’ll get another chance at winning if you post on your blog about my blog candy.
I’ll used Random.Org to select the lucky winner on Sunday, September 6th.
As always,

This is the card I made for my parents who will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on September 9th. I wish now that I had added some small brads below the sentiment. My parents prefer simple and I know they’ll be thrilled with the card I made for them on their special day.
Ooops—I lost track of time and Taylored Expressions is on to a new challenge. This card is based on Taylored Expressions TESC79 sketch challenge. I do have a tendency to forget what day it is! Anyway, here’s what the sketch challenge look liked:
Today’s card base is white. The remainder of the card consists of brushed copper, brushed silver, old and very much retired copper-colored vellum paper. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark, dusted with copper embossing powder, and set with a heat gun. The decor background panel was stamped with Versamark, then alternately dusted with copper and silver embossing powder, and set with a heat gun.
Verve’s Wishful Elegance stamp set (love the background stamp in this set) was used in making this card. I just love Verve Stamps! I still love SU! stamps too. When you are addicted to stamping there’s a lotta love for stamps and my pocket book can support that assertion!
Just a quick side note before I start watching the latest Netflix that has arrived (Life on Mars—great British show!). We caught a 14-pound Mahi Mahi today while we were out kayaking. My husband lost his Mahi Mahi though. His fish did this spectacular leap out of the water and threw the hook. We like to view a long distance release of a fish as leaving some bounty in the ocean. Oh yeah! There was something very, very strange looking just below the ocean’s surface as we were headed back in to the dock. It was a fish and all I could tell husband was don’t stop paddling—keep going! I don’t know if it was a shark or what—I just didn’t want to investigate. We have seen one shark up close and personal while out kayaking/fishing. I must say once is enough!

Kerin Sylvester has the cutest little top note die box (and instructions!) posted on her blog: Stamps, Paper, Glitter. I decided that was exactly what I wanted to make for my SU! Workshop hostess as a thank you gift. Kerin’s instructions are simple to follow and I had my box ready to go in a jiff.
I used Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP to make this box.
I used my Sizzix Serif alphabet to cut out the Hostess’ initials for adhering to the box’s top. The Crushed Curry initials are accented by the Rich Razzleberry initials that are slightly offset.
What would I do different in making this box again? I’d run the top layer of initials through a texturz plate to add a little more visual interest. I’d sponge the sides of the top and bottom lids with a coordinating ink. I’d use my corner rounder punch on the lid like Kerin did.
Please check out Kerin’s blog and do look at her top note die box—it’s real cute! Plus, you’ll find Kerin’s easy-to-follow instructions on how to make your own top note die box.
