bloghopbadgeReady for a red, white, and blue blog hop?? yahoo Between your fun 4th of July festivities please hop on to Scrapbook News & Review (SNR) "Oh Say Can you See" 4th of July Blog hop.  The blog hop is set to officially start at 9am CST on July 4th and will remain open until Sunday, July 5th at 10PM CST.  Blog hoppers can start the Hop at very beginning by going to:  http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/Or, you can start with mine which is about in the middle of the blogs to hop.

This blog hop will be featuring patriotic cards and other projects using red, white, and blue colors.  Some blog sites will be offering blog candy, others tips or tutorials on how to replicate their project.  I have a pretty good idea on what I’ll be posting—just need to get my fanny in gear to have my projects ready to go!  Am I a procrastinator??!!  Well, maybe a little—OK a lot.

Stamp on and with Aloha!

A dear and long-time neighbor of my parents will be receiving this sympathy card I just made.  His wife of many years recently lost the long-term battle with a debilitating disease. This wonderful man has lovingly, graciously and without complaint been her personal caretaker for the last 17 months.  Isn’t that touching?

Wisdom to know the difference

VSJUN05

My grandmother had the Serenity Prayer framed and hanging in her dining room area.  As a young girl I read it a many a time and it wasn’t until I grew older did its meaning begin to truly sink in.  I’m the type of person who likes to be in control of what’s going on around me.  What a hoot—life just doesn’t work out that way.  There are times when the serenity wisdom slowly comes to me that I cannot change certain things no matter how much I dearly want to.  When I saw Verve’s Serenity stamp set included the Serenity Prayer I was in Heaven so to speak!   This was a stamp set that I knew belonged in my stamp stash.

The days are numbered for SU!’s 2008-2009 In-Colors (Place your SU! order now before it’s too too late!!).   Out with the old—in with the new, right?  Just bear with me—I always go through a few tears about the ‘bye bye’ to the In-Colors on the way out.  The bright side being the incoming In-Colors quickly grab your heart strings and your mind starts to bubble over with ideas on how to use the colors in upcoming projects.

Peace be with you on this beautiful Sunday!
