How cool when someone likes your artwork! Check out Joyce’s blog site to see her beautiful Tri-Shutter card. Joyce also enhanced my original instructions which is much appreciated.
I came across the tri-shutter card on the Crafts by Carolyn web site.
Hope you give this fun and easy card a whirl!
-FYI- I used my Fiskars trimmer to score and cut the card. Scor-Pal is also another great tool for doing easy scoring!
1. Cut 12×12 card stock in half resulting in two 12×6″ card panels. (Note: Joyce made her card using 12 x 5 1/2 card base.)
2. Score the 12″ side at 2″ (only 1″ down at top and 1″ up from bottom), 4″, 8″, 10″ (only 1″ down at top and 1″ up from bottom).
3. Use a trimmer to cut a line between the two 1″ scored-down lines. Do this on both ends.
4. Fold along the score lines (see my photo to get a perspective on the valleys and mountains in the card).
5. Cut three (3) 3 3/4 x 3 3/4″ card panels to decorate middle section of card.
6. Cut a 2 strips of coordinating card stock at 12 x 3/4″. Cut in to eight (8) 1 3/4″ strips and two (2) 3 3/4″ strip. Adhere to cut strips
to top and bottom of card panels. (If the card stock is light weight you can adhere the 12 x 3/4″ strips to the top and bottom. I like this
look too.)
7. Now go have fun decorating the card!
