Sympathy Card

With Sympathy I have a couple of sympathy cards to make for an aunt and uncle (separate sides of the family) who recently passed away.   I am sad to say that 2009 is turning out to be a year for sympathy cards for me.

I again chose to use SU!’s simply scrappin’ kit Just Delightful.  I had not put it away (Yes, I know about cleaning up after each project—LOL—that seldom if ever occurs with me!) and thought the colors were suitable for what I had in mind for my card.

Stamp sets:  Warmest Regards, Garden Silhouette (retired)
Paper:  SU! Simply Scrappin’ kit – Just Delightful (retired)
Misc:  Spellbinders scalloped and smooth-edge ovals, white gel pen, SU! certainly celery brads

Dip in the Stash Day

Stash Day

Stash Day

From time-to-time I will declare it’s “Dip in the Stash Day” for me.   I too, must confess, have a stash of unused goodies.   There are multiple reasons as to ‘why’ I have a stash…like I just gotta gotta have something because it’s so darn cute/beautiful/appealing or because I just know I’ll need it for a rainy day or I know there’s (or must be) a ‘perfect’ project for the goodie and woops…time goes by and my stash grows.  How’s it for you? :-)

Stash Day

Stash Day

I made five (5) quick cards (6 1/2 x 3 3/8″) using SU!’s Simply Scrappin’ kit Just Delightful. Any idea which year SU! came out with this kit?  I’m not sure myself…

I used the SU! stamp set Frames with a Flourish (IB&C pg 108) to stamp a decorative-flourish edge on a couple of cards.   Besides the rub-ons (so much fun) that come with the SU! kit  I also used SU! embosslit die Cherry Blossom (my favorite – IB&C pg 202), brads, ribbon, button, and linen thread to decorate my cards.  All products used are SU! with the exception of “Hey there, sunshine!” image which is from Verve.

I’d love for you to share with me your creations from your own declared “Dip in the Stash Day”.

Question answered: How to do Emboss Resist

Aloha,

A couple days ago someone left a comment asking how to do Emboss Resist.  A picture is worth a thousand words and a YouTube video is worth???  Here’s a couple videos on how to do emboss resist.  There are more on YouTube—just do a search using emboss resist.  I really like Stamp TV and Gina so that’s why I selected her videos.  Enjoy!  Now you too can no longer resist doing emboss resist. :-)
